Soul Soup busy-ness!
Hi everyone,
Tomorrow (Tuesday 21 February) is going to be a big day for Soul Soup with lots of opportunities for people to get involved and really see Soul Soup in action!
The day will start with a special commemeration event at Gateshead Old Town Hall to invite back the groups that took part in the Inter-Gen-Jam project! This project saw a group of local young carers meet with a group of local older carers to learning drumming, practice their singing skills, and showcase their talents at the amazing Sage Gateshead.
Throughout the project, Soul Soup administrator Jessica Johnson had been snapping away with a camera and then recorded the entire event on stage. At 10:30am a music video created from the footage will be shown at Gateshead Old Town Hall. If you missed the performance or just want to relive the experience again why not come along and see what’s happening?
Not much after that, Soul Soup leaders and participants will be taking to the air on BBC Radio Newcastle at 11:30am. Tonight on BBC 2 will be the programme Teenage to Oldage, which will be the main point of discussion. If you’re just coming to read about Soul Soup now or want to hear if someone you know has been involved in Soul Soup, then feel free to tune in and find out more!
Finally to end the day, a Soul Soup café event will be held at the Shipley Arts Gallery from 6pm-8pm, marking the opening of a new Soul Soup exhibition there! Have a look at the bowls that have been created with memories of old and young people around Gateshead, and also enjoy a nice refreshing bowl of soup to wind down the day.
From everyone at Soul Soup we hope you’ve had a good Monday and take the chance to join us for an equally good – if not better- Tuesday!
